SbcStudio is coming! My last (short) post informed you that Creative Memories had announced the upcoming release of Storybook Creator's sister software for the Mac, sbcStudio. Please let me know if you have any questions. If you purchased SBC Studio, you should have received a credit voucher email from CM at the email address associated with your SBC Studio account as reimbursement for the purchase price of SBC Studio as well as any content you may have purchased. ~ Update: Due to the loss of the programmers working with CM on SBC Studio, the software was discontinued on April 1, 2012, along with all content offered for it. (Check back … I'll have another tutorial on changing other elements of the calendar page.) Now, just slide a paper into the background, decorate any way you wish, and it's done! Enjoy! Just slide the box up or down to include the portion of the photo that you want to show. Do this by clicking on Crop this image and it will bring up a box the same size as the calendar block.
Once it is inserted, all that is left is to crop it to fit the cell. Now you can browse out to your photos on your hard drive and select the one you want to insert. Click on the one that says Add an image to this cell. Once you get the pop up box, you'll notice a couple of links on the right. Right click on the block for the date that you want to insert a picture into and select the first option at the top – Edit Calendar Cells. Now, that's cool and all, but what about the birthdays and special events you want to remember throughout the year? Next, I slide a photo of the person I want to remember on their special day. Once you click on the Create button, POOF! There's your calendar, filling the page. I want it to fill most of the available space, so this is what mine looks like: You'll want to drag the corners of that box to fit whatever space you want filled by the calendar. Once you click on this button, you'll get a shaded insert box, just like if you were inserting a text box on the page. Once you are in the project, go to the Insert tab and look for the Calendar icon on the far right of the ribbon. You'll start by creating a new 4×6 Landscape project.

The fun part is how easy it is to make the calendar inserts for this album in Storybook Creator Plus 3.0. I use this album because it holds a 4×6 photo and folds out to stand up on its own. It's a simple flip calendar using one of Creative Memories' Picfolio Minutes albums.

The new company simply can’t bring digital forward in its current condition. Those conversations are in process, and we expect to have more to share with you in a month or so. The best case scenario is that we can find a backer for the digital business so existing software customers can order products uninterrupted through a different interface. We’re taking a strong stand to find a way for the digital business to continue, so current and future digital customers can be supported. We’re working hard to find an answer that supports digital customers, enables a great consumer experience, and is more pleasing than shutting it down. We’re currently working with Panstoria and other digital vendors to define what the future looks like for the digital business.
So even though Creative Memories is transitioning out of the software, and the new company will not sell the software in the future, that doesn’t mean that StoryBook Creator and Memory Manager will not exist or be supported.
